Calm Relief offers a new technique!

If you like medium, deep, or very deep pressure for your massage, you will really prefer this technique!

“After I had this ‘cupping’, that was the deepest and best sleep I have had in a long time. I feel so free and light. I love it and want more.” Christine W. July ‘09

Cupping, for the purpose of treating muscle/joint pain, stiffness, and spasms, is generally a painless procedure with deep relaxation and sleep benefits.

After massage lotion is applied, specialized suction bulbs or cups are placed on the skin, squeezed to control the proper vacuum and moved across the skin and muscles. This provides a deeper release of stress. Originated in China with bamboo cups and later glass jars, cupping was fascinating with the use of a flame to remove oxygen for creating a vacuum. This detoxification, traditional method, left temporary bruising marks on the skin. Calm relief doesn’t use it for detoxification and therefore, no bruising.

Upgrade your Cupping with aromatherapy, for an optional sensation! Mmmm!

(additional charge).

What is Lymph Drainage Therapy?

Lymph Drainage Therapy, LDT, is a technique that activates and cleanses the human fluid transportation system, known as lymph. Lymph transports proteins, toxins, hormones, fatty acids, immune cells and others to the lymph nodes for processing, therefore eliminating toxins and waste products. Stress, fatigue, lack of physical activity, emotional shock, infections, substantial swelling, chemicals or food additives and more can stop or hinder the flow of lymph. These can lead to clogging or stagnation. Thus, LDT is a detoxification massage.

The llustrations above and below are the superficial lymph circulation of the face and torso, including lymph nodes, predominantly located in the dark areas of the photos.

Resource material: Silent Waves Theory and Practice of Lymphedema Therapy With Applications for Lymphedema, Chronic Pain, and Inflammation by Dr. Bruno Chikly.

Unlike Swedish Massage. Lymph Drainage Therapy uses no lotion. It is light, gentle, and a very specific technique. This method pumps the flow of the lymph toward the lymph nodes. The lymphatic system then directs the flow to the kidneys for filtration, sending nutrients into the bloodstream and toxins to drain into normal body elimination.

Stiffness in your body?

Do you spend long hours at the computer or garden without a break? Do you pay for it the next day with stiffness or pain in the back/neck?

There’s a simple solution! Here are four, easy, preventative steps:

● Stretch before starting your project
● Take a 3 to 5 minute break every hour or 90 minutes. You may need a kitchen timer.
● Drink 8 oz of purified water at every break
● Stretch at every break and at the end of your project with the opposite motion of what you’ve been sustaining

If you were sitting for your project, then stand for about 3 minutes while you drink your water. Stretch by moving slowly on the exhale until you feel a slight pull. Hold for 6 to 10 seconds and repeat up to six reps, six seconds. That’s it. Go back to your project.

The next day there is a huge improvement in how you feel!

Another great idea is to schedule a therapeutic or wellness massage for the day after your project. If you are in central FL, see www.CalmRelief.com .

Electro Therapeutic Point Stimulator Therapy

I have had a scar on my left outer thigh for 14 years with pain, sensitivity, and problems with certain leg movements.

After only one scar treatment session with MaryAnne, I have no pain or sensitivity on my scar and I am able to move my leg freely. During the actual treatment, I felt little to no pain.

I would highly recommend electro therapeutic point stimulation to anyone with scar pain.
